Camden and Houlton

It was a beautiful day in Camden yesterday, with a good number of visitors to the Book Fair by the Sea. I was quite honored and humbled to be between Melissa Sweet (Tupelo books and many others) and Chris Van Dusen (illustrator of the Mercy Watson books and several of his own, also.)It was fascinating to watch and listen to the illustrators as they confered about different mediums and methods. I had a great time and many thanks to the Owl and Turtle Book Shop and the Camden Library for including me in the event.

On Saturday I will be at York's Book Store in Houlton, Maine. Amanda, Connor and I will be vending at the quilt show that is part of the annual August festival in Houlton. We had a wonderful time last year and are looking forward to seeing our friends up in the county. The book signing begins at 12:30pm at York's on the main street in Houlton. Come on up and see another part of our beautiful state.

Remember to read and write a bit each day!

Book Fair by the Sea

Just a quick note to remind readers that this Saturday is the Book Fair by the Sea in Camden, Maine. The event is sponsored by the Owl and Turtle Bookshop and the Camden Public Library, where it will be held. There will be eight Maine authors/illustrators signing and talking about their books. If you want a fun afternoon to share with a young person, come up to Camden on Saturday, August 16th and join us at the library from 1-4pm. Hope to see you there!
